The UNESCO Chair is deeply involved in the Master in International Tourism, run by the Faculty of Economics in collaboration with the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Università della Svizzera italiana. Chair-holder, Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, is not only a teacher of the Master program, but also a member of the board of the Master. Moreover, a specified course on UNESCO World Heritage and Tourism is taught during the 2nd semester of the Master and the UNESCO Chair offers internship and research opportunities.
A scholarship from tourism professionals for attending the Master is being offered to Swiss and international students. It covers full tuition fee: 4 semesters/ 2 years and is offered by Skal International Lugano, the association of tourism professionals of the Lugano chapter. Skal Lugano is part of SKAL International Official, the global association that brings together more than 20,000 professionals from the hospitality and tourism sector in 98 countries.
