MOOCs
Our Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free and open learning paths on tourism, heritage, and digital innovation. Built with experts from the UNESCO UNITWIN ‘Culture, Tourism, Development’ network, they blend short lectures, case studies, and practical tools. The purpose is to share reliable, actionable knowledge that supports resilient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism – particularly in and around UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites — Vol. 1, 2 & 3
Developed within the UNESCO UNITWIN “Culture, Tourism, Development” Network, this three-volume MOOC series explored how to manage tourism at World Heritage Sites through global expertise and case studies.
-
Volumes 1 & 2 introduced the fundamentals of tourism management at World Heritage Sites, focusing on key challenges such as conservation, visitor experience, and governance.
-
Volume 3, created in response to the COVID-19 crisis, expanded the discussion with perspectives on resilience, sustainability, and the role of communities and digital tools.
All three MOOCs are now archived, but remain a valuable reference for learners and professionals worldwide.
