Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Vol. 1 & 2)

As an initiative of the UNESCO UNITWIN Network “Culture, Tourism, Development”, led by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris, France), two MOOCs – Massive Open Online Courses have been published: “Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites” volume 1 and 2.

The UNESCO Chair based at USI has coordinated the development of them and contributed with ad-hoc contents.

The volumes are the result of a one-year collaboration of multiple professors and researchers from member institutions. Vol. 1 (6’500+ learners from 166 countries) was launched on January 15, 2018 and had a duration of eight weeks, completing its runtime on March 9, 2018, and officially closing at the end of 2018. Vol. 2 (3’500+ learners from 148 countries) was launched a year and a half later, on May 6, 2019, running for a period of 6 weeks till June 14, 2019, and closing December 31, 2019. In the context of the Coronavirus crisis, these MOOCs have been made accessible again up to December 2020, in the modality «open archive», without supervision/assistance.
