The official inauguration of the UNESCO exhibition “Journeys Through Our Fragile Heritage” was held on Monday 28th May (18.00) at Università della Svizzera iataliana (Lugano Campus).
Rector, Prof. Dr. Erez Boas, introuced the speakers Roberto Badaracco, Head of “Dicastero cultura, sport e eventi” of the City of Lugano, Carlo Ossola, Federal Office for the Environment and member of the Swiss Commission for UNESCO, and Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, Chair-holder of the UNESCO Chair. Furthermore the three winners, ?name?, ?name?, ?name?, of the Facebook contest #Selfie4Heritage (see pictures below) were rewarded with a book featuring UNESCO World Heritage Sites .
The exhibition will continue to be displayed at the USI main campus until the end of June and will then be moved into the city center, along the outside fence of Parco Ciani, where it will remain until September 2018. The exhibition is presented in the frame of activities of the UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites and in line with the scope of the Middle East Mediterranean Freethinking platform (MEM).
