On Friday, 31.03.2023, dr. Silvia De Ascaniis and prof. Lorenzo Cantoni co-chaired the 2023 edition of the Swiss Sustainability Forum, organized in collaboration with the MDPI Sustainability Foundation. It has been an intense and incredibly enriching event, where they looked at different facets of sustainability in tourism from a local, national and European perspective, learning from best practices and ongoing initiatives.
Sustainability is a complex issue, which needs to consider the social and cultural dimensions, in addition to the widely discussed economic and environmental dimensions. If well-managed, tourism might become an opportunity to promote awareness of the impact that today’s behaviours have on future generations. Thank you to all of the speakers for their thought-provoking presentations and to the audience for their passionate discussions.
